Upcoming Seminar

More on Commas and Semicolons
Tuesday, February 2
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. CT

What is the difference between an old, wooden chair and an old wooden chair? Would you write the doctor had the results, however, they weren’t conclusive or the doctor had the results; however, they weren’t conclusive or the doctor had the results; they weren’t, however, conclusive? Both commas and semicolons organize our thoughts, but each has its own role to play in composing clear sentences that balance their ideas persuasively. The next Writing Smartly seminar will explain some uses of these important marks of punctuation and illustrate the reasons behind the rules. Participants will receive a handout that summarizes the presentation, along with exercises and answers. You may enroll now through this registration link. Tuition is $25. Please note the new starting time: 6:30 p.m. CT.
